But if we use our imagination, we can actually use concrete in many other ways. These cool ideas won’t even require an expert on mud jacking from Salt Lake City to lift the concrete up. Just a few people with innovative minds are needed.
Outdoor furniture
Using wooden chairs for your backyard may be nice, and it will even give your garden that rustic image. But let’s admit that using wooden furniture outside your house can be a hassle sometimes, especially if you live in an area where there’s a lot of moisture and rain (think of Seattle) because the weather will wear out your furniture.
So instead of using wood or any other material that can be worn out when left to the mercy of the environment, why not use concrete? Concrete is one of the most durable materials, and no amount of rain or sunlight can wear it down.
You can fashion your concrete into a pair of chairs for your backyard, and you will have furniture that will last you a lifetime. Just make sure that you can mold them into the shape of a high-backed chair so that they are more pleasing to the eye. You can also mold concrete into a dining table for your garden. This is more durable and easier to clean.
Front entrance fixtures
Another way you can make use of concrete is to build a sign or a marker for your house and install it in front of your home. You can mold the concrete into a rectangular slab and place it in front of your house with the number of your home etched into it. Putting something like that in front of your home can add glamour to your property.
Bathtub
You can also use concrete for your bathtub. There are so many ways you can design your bathtub with concrete as your material. You can make it look like a clawfoot tub, but make sure that the legs of the tub are thick and sturdy enough to support the whole thing.
Or, you can design the bathtub to have it underneath the floor so that there won’t be too much stress on its foundation. At the same time, it will look like you have a small indoor pool in your bathroom.
Sink
You can also use concrete and mold it into the shape of a sink for your bathroom. It’s more durable than those porcelain sinks, so you can rest your elbows on the edge whenever you want and not worry about putting too much weight on it and eventually breaking it apart.
